Blueberries are the clearest case for a multi-origin program. The domestic deal runs from spring through late summer across the Southeast, the Midwest and the Northwest. Peru peaks as that season closes, Chile carries the deep winter and Mexico covers the spring shoulder. The shelf never goes empty and the buyer never has to re-source mid-season. Organic moves through Rico's own USDA Organic Handler certification, so the chain of custody holds.
